Education:Graduated: Mathematical Faculty of Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences, Budapest, 1977, specialisation: operations research and mathematical economics. Ph.D. from Economics in 1995, at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. Languages: English. Positions:1977-1978: economic department of a chemical engineering company (VEGYTERV), dealing with non-linear programming problems. From 1978: Research Assistant at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, from 1981: Research Fellow, from 1995: Senior Research Fellow. 1990-1992: UNIDO-consultant, preparing investment decision making program-package for developing countries. Awards:In 1986 I was awarded with the Youth Price of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Participation in international research program:1989-1990: international comparison of R&D activities in the framework of a World Bank Restructuring program. 1993-1995: "The role of some long range regulators in the integration process of the East-Central-European countries toward the Single European Market" in the framework of COST A7 action of the EC. 1997-1998: "The Impact of EU Programmes on the Familiarity with and Use of New Technologies in Firms in CCE", INCO-COPERNICUS program of the EU. 2001: "Changing consumer behaviour of the Hungarian Households", Global Development Network 2001 Reseach Competition, CERGE-EI/World Bank. Research interest:Input-output analysis, neoricardian modelling, the economic role of R&D, household and consumption statistics, modelling household budget structures. Social activity:From 1994: elected member of the local municipality of the 8th district (called Józsefváros, the poorest district) of Budapest.
